About Ted

Ted proudly serves as the 34th San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. First elected in 2014, he earned the trust of voters again in 2018 and 2022, beginning his third term in January 2023. With more than 36 years dedicated to public education, Ted’s career spans roles as a teacher, vice principal, principal, and district director of fiscal services. In 2008, he joined the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools team, later stepping into the role of deputy superintendent, where he managed all operations of the organization. As County Superintendent, Ted is deeply committed to partnering with educators, families, community leaders, and organizations to support nearly 400,000 K-12 students attending public school in San Bernardino County. His leadership focuses on advocacy, collaboration, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Mission

Ted will collaborate with district leadership and all stakeholders to ensure stronger schools and communities. Under his leadership, the following goals are top priorities:

Celebrate, promote and highlight effective district practices that demonstrate results;
Deliver the highest level of quality service and programs to school districts;
Continue to foster, strengthen and sustain vital partnerships with all stakeholders to realize the County Schools‘ Strategic Plan and the Countywide Vision.
